Origin Press, founded in 1996, is an award-winning general trade publisher. There are exceptions, but Origin Press is primarily a home for nonfiction author-subsidized titles or books supported by outside grants or investments. One of our author-subsidized titles, A Return To Healing, was the winner of the Gold Prize (Nautilus Awards) for Best Health Book of 2009. Two other of our author-subsidized titles won the prestigious Montaigne Medal (Eric Hoffer Award) for “most thought-provoking book of the year” (2014 and 2016). Our other books have won over 15 national awards. All new titles must fit our list and meet the highest editorial standards. If you have a submission, we prefer that you begin by emailing a short query. Please be prepared to forward a formal book proposal.
